We resolved to do a lot better for holidays than we managed in 2009. Jan was keen to get some sun 'n' sea 'n' sand for once.
David didn't want to miss out on riding.
In March, we went to Andalucia. We stayed in Córdoba and Granada, then with friends in Almuñécar. Then we went up into the mountains near Cómpeta for a week's riding. Everyone was grateful to us for bringing some fine English weather after the three months' torrential rain they had enjoyed over the winter. Here are some slides. Also an exhibition of old cars. And a video of Jeff getting David's horse nicely warmed up and ready for action.
David went to the Czech Republic with Rick. We stayed in Telč, Havlíčkův Brod, Jičín and Prague. The weather was not the best, but at least we avoided the floods that were going on in Moravia at the time. Here are some slides. Enjoy the defenestrating!
We went riding in the Brecon Beacons. Yet again the weather was kind. Here are some slides, not all of which involve Jan applying high voltages to unsuspecting equines.
We went to the Minho and Galicia, and briefly to Asturias. More details, with lots of photos and slideshows, here. You will be pleased to know that we had beautiful weather, which was not the case elsewhere in Iberia at the time.
Leila would have stayed at home while we were away, but instead she was forcibly removed to Mrs Catastrophe's Punishment Centre for Bad Cats. She is maintaining her weight, however. As you can see, she barely fits in the frame.
